Professional Details

 

 I am a certified teacher of English as a Second Language with a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology. I recently spent six years in China teaching English to students of all ages at some of China's top foreign language institutions and high schools. I have been teaching online for two years. 

 

I am knowledgeable in the areas of English and ESL, teaching methodologies, and learner styles. I am experienced at courseware development and lesson planning, and I have run training sessions on the use of teaching technology. 

 

I believe strongly in the importance of establishing and maintaining rapport with my students. This means I do everything I can to create a safe and supportive learning environment that is both enjoyable and instructive. I subscribe to a blend of teaching approaches, but I try to be more of a facilitator than a lecturer, guiding students through their learning process, giving them the tools and creating the environment they need to succeed, and helping them when they have problems along the way.
